Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fixed subsidy (Festzuschuss)?
The fixed subsidy is a fixed amount that statutory health insurance pays for dental prosthetics. It is based on the diagnosis and covers at least 60% of standard treatment costs.
How does the bonus book increase the fixed subsidy?
After 5 years of consistent documentation, the fixed subsidy increases to 70%. After 10 years, it increases to 75% of standard treatment costs.
What is the hardship regulation?
With low income (below the income threshold), you receive 100% of standard treatment costs. For income slightly above the threshold, there is a sliding scale with increased subsidies.
What is the difference between standard and premium treatment?
Standard treatment is the basic care according to insurance guidelines. Premium treatments (e.g. all-ceramic instead of metal crown) are more expensive, but the fixed subsidy remains the same.
